McSweeney Personal Injury Solicitors

We have worked with McSweeney Personal Injury Solicitors on a website upgrade to take his law practice to the next level for 2018/19. The old site was built with html and php and was a good base of content for us to draw on for this upgrade. A couple of key considerations for this project would be the WordPress Theme Selection, Mobile First Design, The speed of the website and the SEO rankings moving forward.

WordPress:

Business Web Designers Dublin always work with WordPress as it is the most robust system available and offers the best security and design features on the market. We selected the TM Finance theme even though it was  finance theme we knew it would make an excellent base for this new website. The beauty of wordpress is that it is fully customisable. We have access to every line of code and can develop the site any way we chose. Another great template to use would be the Enfold wordpress theme which comes with a lot of different demos to choose from.

Mobile First Design:

Mobile first is becoming increasingly important. We see from Google Analytics that almost every account is over 60% mobile traffic. The keys on mobile are fast loading times and making it as easy as possible for the customer to get in touch by sticking the phone number to the top of the screen even as the user scrolls the page. Plenty of calls to action always help. Speed is always important when it comes to web design. This is especially true on mobile devices where users will be quite impatient. Check out your scores on Google Speed Test.

SEO:

Search Engine Optimisation is a critical factor for any business. Google Adwords is always important but most people will still skip the ads and look on the map and at the top of the organic listings. In our view, it is important to show in the paid ads, on the and at the top of the organic rankings. McSweeney Solicitors realise the importance of this and we have set to work on a number of keywords to get to the top position in Google:

Personal Injury Solicitors Dublin

No Win No Fee Personal Injury Solicitors

Cycling Accident Claims

Motorcycle Accident Claims

Road Traffic Accident Claims

We are working on getting all these keywords to the top position in Google and we have also implemented Review Snippets on all these pages.

In recent times the terms Web Design and Web Development are often virtually interchangeable, but they really do possess different meaning. Web Design refers to the aesthetic and the usability aspects of the website. These designers use many programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite to make the layout and visual elements of the site. Web Developers are responsible for the functionality of the website. They transform the website from a static layout into a dynamic site. Developers use many languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and others to bring the life to the designs.

Corporate Website Design

Web Design

When performing web design the designer must carefully consider the clients’ website objectives and business goals and then move on to an Information Architecture (IA). This is the structural design of shared information environments to support usability. Once the guide is completed the designer can create wireframes or screen blueprints. When the information is processed and the pages schematics are complete the designer and begin the design stage. The design part deals with the customer facing or the front-end side of the website, this will focus on the aesthetics and how the user interacts with the sight.

  • Aesthetics play a huge role in supporting the content and the functionality of the website. Aesthetically pleasing websites are concerned with how the site is perceived by the consumer and how user-friendly the interface is. Aesthetics support navigation and interaction.
  • UX or User Experience is extremely important because it aims to fulfil the consumers’ needs. It tries to provide positive experiences in an attempt to create customers that are loyal to the brand. This is the process of enhancing user satisfaction with a brand or product by improving accessibly, usability, and the pleasure provided within the interaction.

Web Development

When the design aspect is completed the project moves on to the development process. Web developers or web programmers take the design and build a fully functional site. The design is a static layout and the developer transforms it into a dynamic. Some developers use HTML while others may utilise a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress to streamline development and allows the clients to maintain, update and add content to their website. Web Development focuses on the functionality of a website.

  • Functionality relies on many factors such as site speed, clickable buttons, etc. The developer must ensure the site is easy to use and responds well to the user’s needs and to the different screen sizes. If the site is deemed functional then the user will have a more pleasant experience using the website.
  • Back-End Development deals with the advanced programming and interactions on a webpage. The developer focuses on how the site works and how the user completes their goals using its functionality. This can include the creation of shopping carts for E-commerce sites.

Online has become increasingly important when it comes to growing or scaling your business. There are a number of factors that go into a successful online presence which we will cover in this blog post.

The most important part of an online presence is undoubtedly the website. Having a great website is like having a solid partner for your business that works 24/7. Great websites can be seen in every industry but is amazing to see great companies who are let down by the website. Following these instructions will lead you to having one of the best websites in Ireland.

Mobile Optimised.

Over half of users online are now using their mobile browse, review, book and purchase online. The number looks set to continue to rise with phones becoming better and better. It is alarming to see the amount of websites that are not yet optimised and selecting a solid wordpress theme to build your site can help in ensuring the maximum number of conversions and market share from mobile devices.

WordPress.

WordPress has taken over the Content Management System market and over 15 million sites worldwide are using the platform. It has numerous advantages including purpose built themes which are the best in their class and can be optimised easily for your business giving you a solid web presence that is optimised for every device and can be easily tweaked, updated and added to by many users in different locations. WordPress training is relatively straight forward and almost anybody can learn to manage their website by themselves.

Business Websites Ireland are among the leading wordpress web designers in Dublin and some of our work can be seen below:

Conversion Optimised.

If you want visitors to your site to convert you should make the most of conversion optimisation. That is laying your site out in such a way that maximises the amount that are produced through each landing page. If we want the user to contact us, we should put our contact number at the top of the page, if we want to user to fill out an enquiry form for a free quote, we should have a call to action asking them to do so. We should repeat our call to action throughout the landing and provide more information about our company and services gradually as we scroll down the page. The site should use vivid stock imagery and should have fast loading times ensuring users don’t bounce and visit another site.

Check out our portfolio or get in touch for a conversion optimised wordpress website.

Search Engine Optimisation.

A great website is nothing without attracting traffic to it. Search Engine Optimisation is the process of signalling to Google that you are an authority in your field and should be ranked at the top of page 1. You will also want to set up a Google My Business account to get your company featured on the map and display key information about your business including contact details, reviews and any special offers you may have going on at the time. If you offer a number of services and customer are searching for those services, you will need to have a separate landing page for each service. This will ensure that when a target customer visits that particular landing page and it is conversion optimised so that they become a paying customer of your business. Site structure is crucial to your SEO efforts.

Adwords.

Adwords has become the most effective advertising platform in the world in recent times and goes hand in hand with SEO. It allows you to appear at the top of page 1 from the very first day and to show off all your companies selling points, USP’s and highlights as well as allowing customers to contact you straight from the Ad through call only ads, text messages or clicking on the site and converting from the landing page. You can also make use of Google Shopping Ads and various other platforms to maximise your sales online. When you appear at the top of page 1 with an Ad, on the Google Map as a top company and at the top of the page 1 with SEO, the potential customer will see you 3 times in the space of a couple of seconds and will regard you as an authority who can get the job done especially if you have a number of reviews to back you up.

Your website is a reflection of your brand online, but when it comes to highlighting your online presence, there are many factors you need to consider. Having a good Corporate Website Design can have great impacts on your company and your conversions. Having a well built website helps generate better customer traffic and will create new business. The Business Websites Ireland team have created a list of top tips for Corporate Website Design.

Corporate Website Design

Corporate Website Design

Mobile First Design

Mobile First Design is a design strategy that enables a website to fit to the screens of different devices by automatically displaying the sites content in a way that suits each device. It is essentially delivering the right user experience to the correct device. In Mobile First Design the UX designers must prioritise the most important aspects of the website, such as clickable contact information. Compared to the average desktop conversions, mobile conversion rates are over 60%. Mobile First Design can lead to more profits for your business. Mobile First Design is for business as; mobile users buy online, mobile dominates online traffic, you can achieve greater social media referrals on mobile, and Google uses mobile responsiveness as a ranking factor. For more information on why Mobile First Design is important Click Here.

Site Structure

Site Structure holds great importance to your business website. It is a crucial element to your sites performance, for both SEO and website usability. The site should have a structure for your site that is easily understood by Google and the users. A well-structured site will have the most important content with the most internal links. Having these links will let Google see what the most significant content and display the relevant content to search engines. While a good site structure will help your site rank in Google it is also important for user experience.  A clear and concise structure allows your audience to easily navigate through the site. This can also lead to increased conversions.

Design For Conversions

There are many different strategies out there to maximise conversions. A good website should be designed with conversions in mind. Many web designers and marketers know the importance of SEO, social media, creating lead magnets that convert and having an amazing web design built on a solid foundation. These factors all play a huge role in your conversion rate optimisation. Hick’s Law suggests that the it time it takes for an individual to make a decision is directly proportionate to the possible choices they have.  By limiting the number of choices the user has can boost your conversions. Another thing to take into consideration is that you don’t have long to catch the visitors attention.  In order to capture their interest quickly use a large benefit driven headline that is brief and to the point, use eye catching imagery that conveys the main purpose of the page, and make large and clear Call To Actions (CTAs). This will show the user exactly what they need thus increasing the chance for a conversion.

Call To Actions

A Call To Action is a piece of content intended to induce a user to perform a specific task. They are extremely important and must be used in your website design.  They can lead users to more information, download content, message you, and even call. It is a way to direct a user to converting. Your website should contain many, large and clear CTAs to entice your audience to complete desired tasks. Placements of these are also important, in a side bar and at the top and bottom of the pages are good locations. Well defined and clear CTAs may lead to increased conversion, and may lead to paying customers.

Load Time

As a business owner you want your website to deliver excellent user experience. Sites that look and perform well are more likely to do better that those that don’t. Take the sites load speed into consideration in order to improve the user experience. A study, conducted by Google in 2012, found that most smart phone users are willing to wait up to five seconds for a website to load before going to another site. The Load time also affects your SEO. In 2010 Google began to use site speed as a ranking factor, and it continues to serve as a factor in determining where your site will appear. Many things may lead to increased load time, so it is important to have optimised images, and to go easy on the plugins. Having a fast loading site will help potential customers to interact with your company, and help your SEO efforts.

Business Strategy is at the centre of every website we develop and we ensure the companies goals and objectives are carefully taken into account before development begins. Here at Business Websites Ireland, we have over 10 years experience with Corporate Web Design and can guarantee the success of your brand. We believe WordPress is the best Content Management System for Corporate Website Design and has many advantages for your business website. WordPress is an amazing open source content management system that is used by millions of people worldwide. With this software you can install and upgrade for free, and it can be used for pretty much anything. WordPress is an incredible platform for building websites, blogs, or even creating a portfolio. It has numerous tools to help you create stunning, professional sites. WordPress has many advantages, such as, customisation, SEO, and you can make your projects even better by installing some WordPress Plugins to add new features. A Plugin is a software component that adds a specific feature to an existing program. Some WordPress Plugins are free, and some are premium and have a fixed price. Here at Business Websites we have prepared a list of useful WordPress Plugins that we feel are valuable to the website design process.

Wordpress Plugins

Yoast SEO

SEO is extremely important and can help grow your business.  Yoast SEO is a wordpress Plugin that offers real time page analysis to aid you in the optimisation of your pages’ content, images, meta descriptions, titles, and keywords. It can also measure the readability of your content and can give you suggestions on how to be SEO ready. Yoast SEO uses a traffic light grading system; red for ‘needs improvement’, orange/amber for ‘ok’ and green for ‘good’. By following their descriptive suggestion you can get that green light and be confident that your SEO is good.

Back WPUp

A fear amongst web designers is losing your work, getting hacked and corrupted databases. It is fair to say that a lot can go wrong when designing or maintaining a website. It is important that you have a plan in place to recover your work and keep your progress up to date.

DuracellTomi’s Google Tag Manager For WordPress

DuracellTomi’s Google Tag Manager (GTM) For WordPress is Google’s free tool to manage and deploy Analytics, Adowrds, and other marketing tags as well as other code snippets using a web UI.  This places the GTM code snippets into your WordPress site, so you can relax and don’t need to do it manually.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a free Plugin that is very popular for ecommerce sites. It powers more that 30% of online stores and is extremely user friendly. It can calculate shipping costs and taxes and can accept major credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, and payments on delivery.

Duplicator

Duplicator is a WordPress Plugin that allows the user to easily migrate, copy, move, or clone a site or content from location to location. It has over 10 million downloads and can be served as a simple backup utility. Duplicator is a very useful Plugin and is a good way to duplicate pages for your site.

WP Smush

No one wants a slow website; we want instant gratification when it comes to information online. Images, that are too large, can slow down a website and may lead to user bouncing from your site. It is critical to have a reliable compression tool to lower the size of the images and increase the sites speed. This award winning Plugin is a crowd favourite and strips bulky and unneeded information from images without losing quality.

While some WordPress Plugins are free, some are premium products with a price. All plugins add value to a site and can bring new features to the site. If you have any queries regarding a new site, eCommerce, or corporate websites contact the Business Websites team today for a free consultation.

Not sure if you need to optimise your website for mobile? Well with 1.2 billion people using mobile devices, it definitely is something worth considering. Mobile traffic has risen in recent times leading to over 50 percent of all search queries coming from mobile devices. Consumers are said to spend more than five hours a day on their Smartphone’s.  With potential customers actively using mobile devices daily, the need for mobile optimised websites becomes more important. Mobile Devices are believed to accelerate time to purchase by 20 percent by facilitation efficiencies in decision making. Over 40 percent of online transactions are completed using mobile devices. So using mobile first design can boost your conversion and allow your customer to browse you services more efficiently. The Business Websites team came up with 5 top reasons for why you need Mobile First Design.

Mobile First Design

Mobile Users Behave Differently

The screen resolution isn’t the only thing that changes from desktop to mobile, the user experience also changes. This is due to the need to optimise a site for mobile to enable the user to navigate through the website and to compliment the user’s mobile behaviours. People tend to behave one way on desktops and another whilst on mobile. Mobile users prefer visual components over writing content.  Images and videos perform extremely well on mobile, social media platforms are mostly used on mobile. Aiming to accommodate mobile users by optimising your site for mobile first design to suit their needs will provide a great experience for both desktop and mobile users.

Mobile Users Buy More Online

Mobile users are among those who spend more time online than desktop users. Those who use Smartphone’s account for the lowest dollar amount per transaction. This means they frequently make small purchases online. If you are selling products at a low rate then mobile users would make the perfect audience for you. Your website should be set to adapt to whatever devices is accessing it in an attempt to provide a user friendly experience. Allowing potential customers to use your site with ease will increase the probability of a purchases being completed.

Mobile Dominates Online Traffic

In 2018, 52.2 percent of all worldwide online traffic was generated through mobile phones.  More than half of search queries are coming from mobile devices, therefore it is crucial that your site is optimised for mobile use. Roughly 90 percent of users switching between devices to accomplish a goal, users the use desktop will engage with you site via mobile at some stage in the process.  Make sure your site is optimised so you don’t miss out on any potential sales.

Google Prefers Mobile Responsiveness

Google announced that they count mobile-friendliness as a ranking factor. Allowing your site to become responsive for mobile is now more important than ever for pleasing Google and increasing organic traffic. Google is user orientated, so it makes sense that they will favour mobile responsive sites as majority of searches stem from a mobile device.

Social Media Referrals Are On Mobile

As social media continues to expand and evolve, it’s firmly planted on mobile. Your brand has a better chance of increasing traffic through mobile devices with your social media marketing efforts. We were getting started on a new record breaking year when we got a phone call which we thought was a hoax. Somebody wanted a Donald Trump 2020 Online Store Website. We thought it was a joke initially but we played along anyway and well, it turns out that it wasn’t a joke and the site is now selling 1000’s of products a month in the United States.

Platform

The owner of the store was debating between shopify and wordpress for his design and we sold him on the advantages of woocommerce wth a wordpress theme and we never looked back.

Development

We developed the site using the Sportexx theme and we integrated all the products with the customer products application to get the products and selling as quickly as possible which was a requirement.

We used woocommerce and many of its advanced features to show our ever popular Trump 2020 Hats Made In The USA as featured products on the homepage.

Payment

Getting paid is the most important part of any business. Without payments coming in, no sales can be made and no business can survive. We recommended Paypal and Stripe to our customer and they duly obliged. Paypal is handy for some but it takes excessive fees while Stripe is a much more generous platform for taking payment’s. A mixture of the two seems to work very well for the customers. We have found the Trump 2020 Keep America Great Women’s T-shirts to be very good sellers.

SEO

We are currently doing SEO on the site and are witnessing it climb in the rankings for all sorts of keywords including Trump 2020 Merchandise. Check the store out for yourself and let us know what you think.
